Peter M. Odell, MD

MD, FACS, Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology Weill Cornell Medical College

Dr.  Peter Odell is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Attending Ophthalmologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital.  After graduating from Bowdoin College and Tufts Medical School and completing a medical internship at the New England Medical Center, he cared for indigenous Americans as an officer in the United States Public Health Service.  Then, shortly after an ophthalmology residency and fellowship at The New York Hospital, he was appointed Director of Resident Training at New York Hospital. In this role he not only demanded a high level of clinical and surgical expertise, but he also stressed the importance of understanding and  communication with patients.  He is a founding trustee and current President of the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation, an organization which promotes access and availability of quality medical care to all residents irrespective of their financial status.  Dr. Odell has vast experience dealing with complex ophthalmic medical and surgical issues.
